LUNG FORCE

The lung cancer survival rate has dramatically increased by 33% over the past ten years thanks in part to treatment advances and increased access to care. The American Lung Association is committed to doing even more to increase survival rates.

The 2022 LUNG FORCE Advocacy Day (April 6, 2022) will be a virtual event, allowing LUNG FORCE Heroes to meet with members of Congress to ask them to:

  1. Please make quality healthcare more affordable for millions of Americans by making the expanded premium tax credits permanent.
  2. Support $11 billion in funding for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to rebuild healthier communities and protect our nation’s health from disease, including lung cancer.
  3. Support $49 billion in funding for the National Institutes of Health so there can be better early detection, treatments and cures for lung cancer.

You can support the efforts of our LUNG FORCE Heroes by following three simple steps:

#1 Call Your Senators and Representative

#2 Send an Email to Congress

  • Tell your Senators and Representative in Washington, D.C., that we need $49 billion in funding for NIH, $11 billion in funding for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and ask them to make the expanded premium tax credits (sometimes referred to as APTCs) permanent to ensure that everyone has affordable, adequate and accessible healthcare. We’ve drafted an email to Congress, all you need to do is fill out your info and send!

#3 Tweet about It

  • Connect with your Senators or Representative using suggested tweets below. Please personalize with their Twitter handle (Use our Find Your Legislator tool to find their contact information – click the ‘+’ to expand and access their social media contact information):
