Flavored Tobacco Products

This grade tells you if your state has taken action to limit or prohibit the sale of flavored tobacco products. Flavored tobacco products play a key role in attracting and addicting kids to these deadly products. In 2021, over 85% of high school students and close to 80% of middle schools students who vape, used flavored e-cigarettes.

Tobacco companies have also focused their marketing of menthol cigarettes on certain communities, particularly Black Americans. This has resulted in over 80% of Black persons who smoke using menthol cigarettes. Any action at the federal level on flavored tobacco products is years away, so states must act on flavored tobacco products by ending their sale in all locations.
