Erica Costa, MPPA is the Director of Advocacy for tobacco control in California and works in the Sacramento office of the American Lung Association. In her work at the American Lung Association, Erica advocates for stronger tobacco control laws on the state, county, and city levels. Prior to her time at the American Lung Association, Erica worked in the California legislature for twelve years where she served as a legislative staffer and recently as Chief of Staff. In this role, she managed all office operations and was instrumental in securing millions of dollars in funding for critical district projects. During her time in the Capitol, Erica also enjoyed encouraging new staff and ushering them into the legislative sphere. She received her bachelor’s degree in Law and Society from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and her master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration from California State University, Sacramento. In her spare time, Erica enjoys playing the piano and taking virtual zumba classes.
