Kristina A. Hamilton, MPH is the director of advocacy for the American Lung Association in Illinois and Iowa and the national chair of the American Lung Association’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council. Previously, she was the manager of government relations at Adtalem Global Education, a leading workforce solutions provider that operated several educational institutions, including medical, nursing and veterinary schools. Prior to joining Adtalem, Kristina held various leadership roles at the Lung Association in Illinois where she implemented a number of community health and public policy initiatives, including working with the Illinois General Assembly to raise the minimum legal sale age of tobacco products from 18 to 21; the legislation was signed into law in 2018. Kristina spent 3 years at the Public Leadership Education Network in Washington, DC organizing and leading programming to encourage young women to pursue careers in public policy. Kristina earned her bachelor’s degree in history and African American Studies at the University of Virginia and her master’s degree in health policy and administration at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
