Steve Kornacki is a national political correspondent for NBC News and MSNBC. He is well-known for breaking down complex data in an easily understandable way for politics, presidential elections, and professional sports. Kornacki is originally from Groton, Massachusetts and attended Boston University. He began his career covering New Jersey state politics and co-hosting a political news show on News 12 New Jersey and later covered Congress for the Capitol Hill newspaper Roll Call. In 2012, he became a panelist on the MSNBC show "The Cycle," then went on to host a weekend show. Since 2014, has used the network's signature touch screen monitor to present data about elections, politics and American life. Kornacki gained notoriety after his national television analysis of the 2020 presidential election and has since gone on to analyze data and results for many other notable events and programs, including the National Football League, the Kentucky Derby, and the Olympics. In addition to his journalism career, Kornacki authored the book,The Red and the Blue: The 1990s and the Birth of Political Tribalism

Kornacki is a supporter of the American Lung Association. His support follows the lead of his father, Steve Kornacki Sr., who participated in the American Lung Association’s Trek Across Maine event for the first time in 2022.
