Dr. Dixon is currently the EL Amidon Chair and Professor of Medicine at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine, and System Chair of Medicine for University of Vermont Health. Dr. Dixon received a degree in natural sciences from the University of Cambridge, and her medical degree from Oxford University. She completed residency training in internal medicine at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, and fellowship training in pulmonary and critical care at the University of Washington.
Dr. Dixon’s scientific focus is in the area of obesity and asthma; she has produced numerous papers, book chapters, and edited a book on this subject. A major part of her research career has been work in clinical trials with the American Lung Association Airways Clinical Research Centers network.
Dr. Dixon has served on numerous national committees and grant review boards, including for the American Thoracic Society, the American Lung Association Airways Clinical Research Centers, the American Board of Internal Medicine, the National Institutes of Health and the Veteran’s Administration.
