I suffered with Asthma as a child and believed I outgrew it at about 12 years old. December 8, 2013 my sister passed away very unexpectedly. Once I flew home from her funeral I went right to ER due to having trouble breathing. They did X-ray, said I was fine and had me get dressed and I was sitting in waiting area waiting for discharge paperwork. My Angel, one of the nurses who treated me grabbed me and I will never forget, she asked me if I had just flown and when I said yes stated to me to let her speak to doctor. I knew they were worried about blood clots.

My sister had just passed away from one. The doctor ordered CT Scan and I had double pneumonia. Two years and multiple cases of pneumonia, hospital stays and horrendous tests later, it was discovered I had asthma. I am so happy and excited to be a part of this Patient Advisory Group, so I can help someone else not go through the fear I did especially after my sister had just passed. I had to learn a lot on my own and fought several times when I knew something was wrong with my body. I heard over and over we have never seen anything like this. I know I can help someone else. I look forward to what lies ahead!
