Can you imagine our world if vaccines were not available? Not only are routine vaccines recommended for a multitude of diseases for babies and school-aged children, they are recommended for adults in every age group, especially the elderly. Vaccines of all types save the world from disease and sickness, and they save lives!

For me, getting vaccinated is a "no brainer." I am a two-time lung cancer survivor and I have also been diagnosed with COPD—and yes, I am elderly. I am vigilant about being regularly vaccinated for the flu and COVID-19 as each new variant is discovered. In addition, I have been vaccinated for pneumonia and RSV.

All of these diseases are respiratory in nature. I fought to survive lung cancer twice. I will always be proactive in getting vaccinated and helping to prevent myself from getting any type of respiratory infection or in limiting the severity of the infection. At my age, it could be fatal.
