In 2008 my mom, Rosenda, was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. The day the doctors gave us the devastating news that there was nothing they could do for my mom and she might only have only a year to live was the worst day for my family. There were many tears, questions of 'why?' and many other emotions. We gathered and decided to get a second opinion. Mom was introduced to Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Phoenix, AZ. The doctors there believed that with radiation and chemotherapy, they had a high chance of curing her.

Undergoing with this treatment we experienced the long, tiring, emotional and tough journey. Throughout my mom kept her faith and when she became depressed, she put her sickness into the hands of the Good Lord. Within a year's time my mom was cancer free (in remission) and she became our strongest hero and inspiration! She is a cancer survivor! Then, in August 2015, the cancer reappeared in a small area on her rib. She is currently undergoing treatment again. She has great doctors that follow up on her cancer. That's how they caught this small spot. I never thought this would happen to my mom for she is not a smoker.

I was feeling helpless and wanted to help raise funds for this cause and spread awareness so I am joining LUNG FORCE on behalf of my mom Rosenda. We are Not Giving Up! We will walk alongside our mom at this year's LUNG FORCE Walk in Phoenix on November 14th as "TEAM ROSENDA." I want to thank you for taking the time to read my story and to live every day like it's your last and to let your love ones know you love them. THANK YOU, Sincerely Coronado and Lucio Family.
