Hailey R., IL

On November 1, 2017 my mom was diagnosed with stage 3A lung cancer. The very first thought that went through my mind was, "Oh my gosh, what if she can't make it to my wedding." Now I know that is extremely selfish, but as a little girl you always dream of your wedding with your parents there. At that point, Kevin agreed that we could move the wedding date up if necessary and that the groomsmen and he would all shave their heads if she was going to lose her hair. Luckily, and I know the groomsmen as especially thankful for this, we don't have to worry about any of that because my mom is officially cancer free and will be attending the wedding with a head full of hair!

Kevin's family also had their fair share of lung cancer. He sadly lost both paternal grandparents to lung cancer so you can see why this charity hits close to home for both of us. LUNG FORCE is committed to raising the awareness of lung cancer and raising money for research so hopefully one day families will no longer have to hear "you have lung cancer." Every five minutes a woman in the U.S. is diagnosed with lung cancer. LUNG FORCE is devoted to changing people's minds about this type of cancer because anyone can get it-even non-smokers like my mom. They help raise money for research that will lead to early detection and a more personalized treatment. Their most important goal is for everyone to live a life free of lung disease.

Thank you for your consideration of choosing LUNG FORCE as your charity of choice.
