My mom, 46 years old and a non smoker, started with curious symptoms. She lost sight in one eye. An eye exam revealed a tumor, Then a CT scan revealed hundreds of tumors all across her body. The largest tumor was found in her lung.

When her oncologist told our family that my very "healthy" mother had stage 4 lung cancer we could hardly grasp what he was trying to tell us. He mentioned my mom's health was in her favor. Her vision that she lost came back, her voice she lost came back, and most all of the small tumors shrunk or disappeared. My mom battled this cancer for 15 months before she passed away. As of her passing, she was the longest living stage 4 cancer patient her oncologist ever had. She was determined and strong.

Now I wish to raise awareness that even seemingly healthy individuals that do not smoke and live a healthy lifestyle can have this aggressive cancer. Bless anyone who has walked this journey, will walk this journey, or walked with someone.
