Monique M.

My story starts with the shocking news that my mother, Dotty, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer on July 25, 2016. It had already spread to her bones, liver, and kidney. I had just seen my mother the weekend of June 1, 2016 doing the regular shopping trips.

We went to see the oncologist which gave us hope. After the first treatment of chemo she was good. However, the cancer had moved so fast. She fell and broke her femur. It went downhill from there.

My best friend was dying in front of me. I still cannot understand how she could be absolutely fine and then die on August 26, 2016. I had her 1 month and 1 day after her diagnosis.

We need to do more for early detection of Lung Cancer.
