Timothy A., CA

Fifteen years ago, my wife and I were blessed with our second child, also our first daughter, Ashley Nicole Adams. One day, her mother and I noticed that she was easily winded while playing and had difficulty breathing. We didn't think much of it until the episode began to recur more often and with longer bouts of her shortness of breath. We took her to see her pediatrician and she was diagnosed with asthma.

While her asthma is under control with her medication, it's still a concern and threat each and every day. She is the reason I decided to become a Respiratory Therapist. I look forward to the day when this disease and all other diseases are no longer a concern.

Until then, I walk! Walk with me! Or, better yet, make a donation. Your donation to the American Lung Association will support programs to help kids learn how to best manage their asthma. Your donation will support life-saving research to improve prevention and treatment for asthma and other lung diseases. All donations go a long way. Thank you for your support!
