Newly Diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension

Find Out All You Can About Your PH

If you have been diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension, you will find out what type of PH you have. There are five different groups of PH and the treatment you receive will be tailored to the type of PH that you have. Once you understand what type of PH you have, you will be better equipped to treat and manage your condition for the best possible health outcomes.

Find a Specialist

It is important to find a specialist who is familiar with the type of PH you have. Being treated by a specialist ensures you will get the most up to date treatment options for your PH. Learn more about connecting with a specialist.

Get Organized

It can feel overwhelming to be diagnosed with a chronic lung condition. There are steps you can take to help you take control of your health journey.

  • Prepare for your specialist visit with the Getting Ready for Your Specialist handout. Keep track of questions, symptoms, medical tests you have had and more.
  • Medication trackers can help you better manage your medications, understand your side effects and identify if your symptoms are being well managed. You can fill out a downloadable medication tracker or use a free PAH medication tracker app on your smartphone.

Connect with Others

There are online and in-person support groups available. Finding support and a connection to a community early in your journey will provide you with opportunities to get information about your disease, empower you to better manage your disease and provide you with support.
