Abigail S., FL

My name is Abby, and I am a 31-year-old mother, wife, daughter, sister and aunt. My first asthma attack was at age 13. As time went on, things seemed to get worse. I was forever in and out of the hospital with pneumonia; add to that the misery of my doctors never knowing the cause of my agony. At age 22 after having my first child, I had to have part of my right lung removed.

As the years have gone by, things have only gotten worse. Just two weeks ago, I saw my life flash before me during a severe attack that nearly took my life! I thank God, my Heavenly Father, for his mercy and grace. I also thank God for allowing me to take another breath and for giving our doctors the knowledge of medicine. I also thank God for the wonderful husband that he has given me to keep me motivated and strong.

I strive for clean air, because I have two wonderful boys to live for! I thank my family for always being there for me through this harrowing journey... It is a difficult one, but if we all join together to strive for excellence, we can make it!
