David K., NH

I have pulmonary hypertension and leg edema. I cannot work and have a hard time having fun. I also look a little funny with an oxygen tank on my back.

We need to have clean air! I am on oxygen 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and it is not a joke. It all started with asthma and other little lung problems. Eventually, breathing became very difficult for me.

To get a taste of what life is like for me, put a straw in your mouth and breathe through it. Now, block your nose and walk a mile trying to breathe through that straw.

All of my life, I have had to breathe the poisons that are in our air. I worked in the automotive industry and also cleaned a school. All the chemicals get to you after a while.

Today, I walk as much as I can for exercise. I do not give up! Being on four liters of oxygen makes it tough! Poor air quality also causes other problems with health. Please keep the air clean, or someday you will wear an oxygen tank just like me!
