Johnell C., IL

Two years ago my life changed. It all started with a disease called histoplasmosis. It attacked my left lung, and I lost all of it.

Today, I only one lung and it has COPD and pulmonary hypertension. I now fight to breathe daily. I live my life on oxygen 24/7.

The good Lord manages to make me verticaleveryday, and I still am able to sing Southern gospel. I can only sing one song at a time now, but that is ok with me.

I find it a challenge to step outside of my home and breathe in the heavily polluted air around me. I am in a steel mill town, and even when I was elsewhere, it is still polluted with auto fumes and industry.

I am a big supporter of industry in America but not if the air around it is polluted by it. We all have a right to breathe easier, and it is not just a right, but also a necessity. I want to join this fight and do what I can to make others aware.
