I have adult onset asthma that is difficult to control despite taking multiple medications. I have three to four major asthma attacks a year and probably twice as many where I don't need to see a doctor. Air quality is a significant trigger for my asthma.

Stale air like in hotels and large buildings, air with particulates and moisture, as well as chemicals like those found in air fresheners, cleaners, fragrances, smoke residue all cause me problems.

This weekend, with the fires, I could not go to my family reunion in Lake Tahoe. Since California winds tend to go east, the fires west of Tahoe would be a big problem.
