Nina E., MT

I chose my home in a peaceful and beautiful western Montana valley for its ample public lands, outdoor recreation opportunities, and clean environment. I am a runner, hiker, biker, skier, and all around outdoor enthusiast. My family, friends, and I spend time on the water fishing, kayaking, boating, and swimming, so water quality is important. I have athletic asthma, so air quality is also important. I am also a mom to two young girls whose lungs are still developing. And I coach my daughter’s soccer team. I know how important healthy air is for my growing daughters and for all children.

My motivation for relocating to and also staying in Montana has always involved both the environment and health and wellness. I advocate for healthy air for the sake of my own health and that of my two growing daughters, and for all living things. We are all impacted by air quality. Science tells us that climate change is resulting in longer and more severe wildfire seasons, and I am directly affected by this when the valley in which we live fills with choking smoke. Fortunately, we have the capacity to protect the air we breathe. And I will keep advocating for policies that protect our climate and protect our air.
