Asthma doesn't run in our family, so how come all three of our grandchildren suffer from asthma?

My daughter made countless doctors visits with her first child who seemed to come down with every cold out there. She was finally diagnosed with a coughing form of asthma. After many years of treatment, she is much better and suffers mostly in the fall. This made the task of having the other 2 siblings diagnoses easier for their physicians.

It is time consuming for the family, not to mention the many late nights spent worrying. Asthma also interferes with another grandchild who has exercise induced asthma problems and likes to play basketball.

If it is poor air quality that causes this, we need to clean it up.
