Research Topics:

tobacco
Hookah smoking has become a popular form of social smoking. Because of fruit flavored tobacco, it is commonly believed that hookah is a safe alternative to cigarette smoking. However, a 45-minute session of hookah is equivalent to the nicotine in 10 cigarettes. This study will examine levels of particulate matter and carbon monoxide of patrons pre- and post-hookah bar visits with the intent to strengthen policies related to age, regulation and advertising.
