Dawn M., AZ

Thank you for allowing me to share my story. My mother had suffered for years with difficulties breathing. She was told she had asthma, and then sarcodosis. My folks moved from the Midwest to the southwest to retire as well as to help my mother breathe better.

In March 2014, my mother was finally diagnosed as having pulmonary fibrosis and we were told she was terminal. My mother died a month later on April 22. Our lives were turned upside down as my dad lost his beloved wife and my brothers and I lost our mother. There was no time to prepare for this as her death came so quickly.

If we would have known her diagnosis sooner, clearly my family and I would have had a better understanding of this disease and my mother's life could have been prolonged as I truly believe she would have gotten the proper treatment.
