During LUNG FORCE Advocacy Day (March or April), our LUNG FORCE Heroes come together to urge senators and representatives in Washington, D.C. to support robust and sustained federal funding increase for lung cancer research. 

LUNG FORCE Heroes have succeeded in helping us increase National Institutes of Health (NIH) lung cancer research funding by over 140% since the inception of LUNG FORCE in 2014.

Each year during the second week of May, we turn the nation our signature color—turquoise—and tell the stories of those impacted by lung cancer to change the public’s perception about the disease.

We need more awareness about lung cancer, more education on lifesaving screening and more research funding to fuel lifesaving breakthroughs.

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month—a time to raise awareness about lung cancer, share our stories and help make a difference. Each November, the Lung Association issues the annual State of Lung Cancer report which demonstrates the toll lung cancer takes on each state in the country.
